Tomatin Community Hub
Commercial Plumbing and Mechanical Works
The Project
With the previous community hall no longer fit for purpose, the Tomatin Community Hub was constructed in 2019 to create a larger space to encourage community activity. With the committee keen to utilise renewable energy options, R&I Cruden were appointed to supply and install all plumbing and mechanical requirements.
The Works
To provide hot water and space heating, R&I Cruden supplied and installed a Mitsubishi 42.8kW CAHV air source heat pump, operating in combination with a joules underfloor heating system. The hot water output is further supplemented by a solar thermal system.
A new hot & cold water system was installed throughout the building including all pipework and insulation, with R&I Cruden also responsible for the supply and installation of all sanitary appliances and drainage systems.
To supply ventilation through the building, R&I Cruden installed a new mechanical ventilation system including heat recovery unit, extract fans, grilles and ductwork.
To reduce future electricity costs, the client chose to have solar PV installed. R&I Cruden supplied and installed a 4kW roof mounted solar PV system as requested by the client.
